Introduction

Hi, I am Wayne. I general contracted my own home 30 years ago. I did a majority of work my self. Since then I have done home remodels, bathroom updates, exterior home repair. This includes widening a closet for washer and dryer, opening a walkway from living room to kitchen. Installation of new LED can lights in kitchens, living rooms, closets. I can replace or install light switches and receptacles. Hang new drywall, patch holes in old drywall, remove old wall paper, and paint. I have repaired and replaced toilets and sinks. I have mounted TV's, shelves and pictures. You name it, I can most likely do it. I converted and old drum into an end table, and a Baritone Horn into a lamp. I have built retaining walls and fences. I am trustworthy, honest, fair. I treat every job as if it was done on my own home.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I am fair and honest, this is a vague question, so very difficult to answer as every job is different. I feel that I have to put my eyes on the project in order to evaluate correctly.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Once Thumbtack notifies me of a new job, I will call you, if no answer I will leave a VM. I will then follow up with a text message.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been building, renovating, repairing and installing for over 30 years. I have experience and am capable of almost any task.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started with General Contracting my own home and progressed from there.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with perfectionists, and any and all types of people.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

My friend recently purchased a 3 bedroom ranch (that was outdated) and wanted it completely redone. I modified a bedroom and closet so that it could incorporate a clothes washer and dryer, this included running power to both items, running hot and cold supply water, drain and vent pipe. I repaired questionable junction boxes, in attic. Replaced all switches and receptacles in the house. Installed can lights in living room, running 3 way switches to two separate locations. Replaced all kitchen lights. Removed old tile floor in main bathroom, replaced the sub floor. Installed in floor heating system, Tiled the floor, installed vanity and reroute wires for lights on each side of the vanity. Basement: I insulated the sill plate, reworked the main plumbing, revised the electric wires for lights and switches. Patched vinyl siding on exterior of house where kitchen exhaust fan once was. I opened up the wall from kitchen to living room from 3 foot walkway to 6 feet to have a more open concept. I also repaired the yard light and numerous other things. This was a fairly large undertaking but was 100% successful. They loved the finish product! Project several months.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Please be as descriptive as possible, it is difficult to bid a job with out good details.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

This is totally up to the client, tell me what you are thinking, what you want done, what your expectations are. Depending on the project they may or may not know what is needed for the job, that's where I come in and can assist. I am not opposed to obtaining materials, but obviously expect to be reimbursed.
