What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

First, we go to the job site to assess or evaluate what and where the job will be performed. Second, we give clear and specific costs on the job or jobs which will be performed. We make sure the customer is clear on the specs, have a contract signed, and include the warranties on the contract as well.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

We at Alon General Construction and Alon Roofing have certificates in Wind and Hail Damage. We also have training in Xactimate estimating with sketch. We take pride in our workmanship and years of experience in sales and customer service.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

We have been working in the real estate industry for many years so we started our construction business a few years back as customers had construction needs when they had to buy or sell homes so we decided to offer a one stop shop to take care of both their real estate and construction needs.

What types of customers have you worked with?

We have had both residential and commercial customers who we have helped in major or minor repairs in a variety of trades including roofing, siding, gutters, painting, drywall, carpentry and many more.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We recently replaced a 1 story 24 SQ (approximately 2,400 sq. ft.) roof with top tier Owens Corning shingle in one day. We also replaced rotted wood on the decking and the customers were very satisfied.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Make sure the contractor is covered by general Liability insurance, has the correct permits required by the city and licenses needed to do specific work.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Make sure the pro is using quality top tier materials and the years of experience of the contractor performing the work. Also, make sure the work has at least one year warranty on repairs and at least 5 years on a major project such as in a complete reroof.
