Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We have financing available. We do offer discounts for military, advertising, and referrals. Sometimes the manufactures will offer discounts that we pass on to the homeowner.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We will set an appointment for inspection. It is best that the homeowner be present for the inspection. The beginning of the appointment we will listen to the customers to understand their wants, needs, and concerns. Then we will perform the inspection and take measurements. Afterwards, we will share our finding with the homeowner. Most estimates can be prepared same day.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have 8 plus years experience in the roofing industry. I have received training from the three major shingle manufactures, Owens Corning, GAF, and CertainTeed. And I'm involved in continuous training with these manufactures as well.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started helping a friend who owns a roofing company, working part time. I enjoyed the work and the people and decided to make it a career.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Everyone from first time homeowners, rental property owners, realtors and home builders.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
A homeowner called us to help with a insurance hail claim. Upon inspecting the roof, I found multiple layers of felt and roof decking that was both out of code and in poor repair. I was able to work with the insurance company and recover enough from them to replace the roof deck with an energy efficient, up to code deck and upgrade the shingles from a 3-tab 25 year roof to an architectural laminated lifetime shingle. It took a few months, but well worth the time and energy invested.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Ask a lot of questions. Make sure you know what work is going to be performed, what materials they will be using, and what is and is not included. If there is something that you’re not sure about, just ask.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Besides the shingles, what else will they be replacing? Are they removing the old felt? Are they removing the old flashings? Are they reusing any materials, for example, roof vents?
