Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
The minimum estimate for any one or a combination of projects to be done on the same visit is $350. It allows us to pay our employees fairly for their skills and time.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We will set a free estimate appointment for you with one of our experienced craftsmen. We will understand what your needs and priorities for the project are and work out the estimate. After you receive the estimate and accept it, we will call you and schedule the work appointment. To schedule this appointment, we will require 10% or $1,000, whichever is less, deposit. You will pay the final balance upon completion and acceptance of the work.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Please make sure that the contractor you want to work with is licensed, bonded, and insured. California State law tries to protect consumers and bars unlicensed contractors from taking on jobs over $500. The State imposes stiff fines when a violation of this law is uncovered. If the contractor is licensed and bonded and something goes significantly askew with the project, you may have way to recover losses. General Liability insurance can be used to cover the damages contractor may inflict on your property. And most importantly, Workers Compensation insurance makes sure that the customer is not financially liable for injuries to workers on the job.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Hiring a contractor to work on a project is an important process. Make sure you choose a company you're comfortable with, and whose people you can speak to candidly and honestly. Be sure you have satisfactory answers to these questions before you hire a contractor. -Are you licensed? What license classification do you have? -Do you use employees only or also subcontractors to work on this project? -How are your employees vetted? -Is your work warrantied for a certain period? -How much liability and workers compensation insurance do you carry? Is it sufficient to cover the potential damages from an accident at our job site? -What permits will be required for this project if any? Can you help with our local permitting process?
