What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Well first impressions are huge. I like to introduce myself, and identify the customer’s exact wants and needs.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I earned a General Studies degree from Odessa College, where an introduction to psychology sparked my interest. This passion led me to study Social Psychology at Southern Methodist University, equipping me with insights that have enhanced my hiring practices and client relations in both residential and commercial settings.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

My close family member brought me into this line of work midway through 2016.

What types of customers have you worked with?

1. Residential Customers – I have worked with homeowners who need regular lawn care, tree trimming, and landscaping maintenance to keep their yards looking great.” 2. Commercial Clients – I have provided services to businesses, including office buildings and retail spaces, ensuring their outdoor areas are well-maintained and welcoming.” 3. Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Actually it’s the current project I am in. It’s taking all weekend. It allowed me to show off my creativity in different ways than before.

Be patient in the process. Make sure who you are leaning towards hiring match your needs but also wants. Ask questions and always go with your intuition.

Do I have any design preferences? – Customers should think about styles they like, preferred plants, or any specific features they want (e.g., pathways, patios, irrigation systems). 5. Are there any existing issues? – Things like poor drainage, dying trees, or pest problems should be discussed upfront. 6. How much maintenance am I willing to do? Some landscapes require frequent upkeep, while others are more low-maintenance. 7. Do I need permits or HOA approval? – If they live in a community with regulations, they may need approval before starting work. 8. What is my property’s environment like?Knowing their soil type, sunlight exposure, and climate helps professionals choose the right plants and materials.
