Introduction

Hi, My name is Andrew. I look forward to helping you! I've been doing handyman work for over 15 years. I started working in HVAC in 2018, and graduated from Dunwoody in HVACR in 2020. I decided to use my knowledge of houses in a different way with an apprenticeship as a housing inspector in 2021, and started my own home inspection company (Red Oak Inspection) in 2022. Since starting my company I have been working part-time doing HVAC, property maintenance, plumbing and electrical as well as basic handyman work. I've got several years of landscaping experience as well. I am knowledgeable in cultivating land, trimming trees and more. I'm looking forward to putting my skills and expertise towards taking care of projects for you!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I try to be upfront, fair, and transparent about my fee. For a distance of over 20 miles I charge a trip fee of .70 cents/mile. With larger HVAC jobs, I charge $69 for the initial assessment, but if I am hired, I will waive that fee.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I value communication. Before committing to a job, I listen and ask questions. I make sure I understand the entire situation. I may ask for pictures, and often I appreciate talking on the phone because we can cover more ground than in messages. In some instances, I may need to come see the project space. Throughout the process I stay in close communication with my customers.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I graduated from Kaplan Real Estate Education for Housing Inspection, and from Dunwoody College of Technology in HVACR Installation. I apprenticed as an Inspector for Nifty Home Inspections. I also apprenticed for several years in the solar field with Jack Hanson solar. I have my Osha 30 card, and am a member of InterNACHI (International Association of Certified Home Inspectors) A lot of what I know I've learned on the job because I always want to grow and ask questions.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I've always been curious about the world around me and about how things work. I started trying to fix things when I was young, and it turned into me doing handyman work!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have mostly worked with residential and commercial customers.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I would say to always ask if they have a portfolio of the work they have done as well as if they come from a recommended person or a person whom you have seen the job done yourself.
