Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
First of all, if you have an insurance claim that will pay for your roof replacement or roof repair, you will only be out of pocket for your deductible and other items your insurance company won't cover (i.e. rotten decking). Our cash pricing is straight forward. We pride ourselves on providing high quality products and service. We offer discounts to first responders, teachers, and the military (active and veterans) who pay via cash/check/credit card (not applicable to those who take advantage of our financing options). We offer several different financing options through GreenSky and Acorn.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We will schedule an appointment for a free roof inspection. Then we will educate you on our findings and explain the best possible solutions to your problems. If you don’t have any roofing problems, but suspect a strong storm created some wind or hail damage, you can still call us for a free inspection. If we do find any issues with your roof, it is our promise to you to not make any unnecessary recommendations. Your address will stay in our database so that if any major storms come through your area, we will notify you and schedule a time to inspect your roof for damage. We listen to the problems you’re facing and work diligently to help you. We are a roofing company, but we also have extensive, trusted relationships with subcontractors in every aspect of construction.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Our founder, Philip, has an unlimited home builders license, a master of accountancy degree from Auburn University, and has extensive home remodeling experience. We have an extensive training program for our team and attend multiple roofing conferences each year so we can be cutting edge with our products, building codes, and technology.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Our story isn't typical. Philip has been a home builder / house flipper for several years and during this time has built a strong team of competent roofers. Also during this time, Philip encountered several heart breaking situations while looking at houses to buy/flip. He knew he couldn't stand by and do nothing. Following the call of Jesus Christ, Philip started Housing Hope Foundation in order to help widows, widowers, and those with special needs to help repair or replace their roofs free of charge. After serving a few people, God spoke to Philip encouraging him to start a roofing business to be able to better help those in need. This is why we are in this business - to increase the number of people we can help in our community. Helping others is one of our company's core values.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We have worked with single family and multifamily residential homes.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We are fond of all of our projects. As cheesy as it sounds, we love the roofing business and our customers. Most roofs can be completed within 1 day. However, larger homes could take 2-3 days. Because of the number of installation teams we have, we can typically start our projects as soon as the next day (if ordered by noon and weather permitting).

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
If I were going to hire a roofer, I'd ask to see their homebuilders or roofing license. I would also request a certificate of insurance for both general liability and workers compensation insurance; and I'd ask for referrals. Make sure your provider is using synthetic underlayment and ask them how they protect low slope eaves and the valleys from water intrusion. Their answer should be that they use an ice & water shield. It's VERY important to compare apples to apples when comparing multiple quotes. There are varying qualities of material that could make one company's quote appear much lower. We typically offer a good, better and best option, but we start with the best option first, which is the option I would personally choose if I'm doing my own roof. Another thing to consider, is the company's ability to pay for the materials. We've heard horror stories where a customer paid for the materials to the roofing contractor, but the contractor didn't pay the materials supplier who subsequently put a mechanics lien on the customer's house. You can verify their reputation by asking the contractor who they buy their materials from and asking the supplier about them. Lastly, make sure your provider can offer financing. Financing companies do a lot of due-diligence to ensure the roofing companies are legitimate and credit worthy.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Before you decide on a roofing contractor, I'd ensure they have great Google reviews and/or referrals. I'd also make sure the contractor is responsive and can get to your project quickly. The Roofing Dudes answers the phone 24/7, we will come inspect your roof in less than 48 hours M-F (most often the same day) and we will be able to get started within a week (give or take a few days depending on weather).
