Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Customers understand from early in the journey regarding our pricing. We are extremely passionate in explaining the value of our services and we don’t waste your time dragging out the pricing factor. Our proposal dives deep on understanding what will be required from customers, how much it will cost to renovate your roof, and how the payment should be made and when. If something is unclear with understanding pricing, a member of our team will explain it and make sure that it makes sense before moving on.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Our typical process for working with a new clients is first explain what our inspection process includes, how thorough our process is and how they can access our full report digitally. We lay a foundation of consultation rather than selling. We explain all processes clearly and give professional options and opinion on what materials are available to be used or not used. Our seamless process focuses more on educating our customers on what a new roof or roof repair process entails, a proper proposal (30+ pages), what steps are required to follow for adhering city requirements, the entire scope of work for the project, a scheduling timeline for completing the project on time, and of course payment timetable and options if they want to finance. All is laid out and explain easily so you can make a good decision on hiring the best contractor… Salus Exteriors.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have countless safety training and roof installation education. From installation best practices, roofing building code, material knowledge, attic ventilation specs, and business degree.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I got started doing this type of job back in 2017 working as installer and working my way up to project manager for a company. Now, I own my company and focus on training my crews the value of hard work and training.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We have been fortunate to work with a variety of customers that understand our consultative approach and really want to learn more about their own roof and the whole process. This makes working for our customers so much easier and rewarding. Customers that are interested is what makes us be more professional everyday since we can educate and guide them on how we do business (how it should be done) in order for them to not get scammed from contractors that are worried first on their bottom lines and last on their customer’s roof.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We recently did a 40 sq. 5 facet asphalt shingle roof replacement. The process took about 40 days from inspection to finalizing the last payment since it was an insurance claim. We were able to help a great customer get their roof replaced since it had hail damage from a recent storm. The customer upgraded their roof to have class 4 impact resistant shingles and better ventilation for their attic. It was a pleasure handling this project for this family.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Understand that because of a need to fix something quickly, you still must make good decisions based on facts. The most important part of hiring a good roofing contractor is making sure that they are transparent in communication, they become trustworthy, and do not have a hassle sales approach. We at Salus Exteriors are more of a partner in your external project needs rather than just another roofing company selling you a roof.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
You should know that there are two ways of getting a roof paid for. Out of pocket or by means of an insurance claim. After knowing which route to take from the previously mentioned, know how important your attic ventilation is for your roof. Many manufacture’s warranty will only cover your roof if it is properly ventilated. Think on how well your attic is ventilating by how much air is flowing in and out. Next, keep in mind the different options of shingles to consider. There are many types of shingle systems and shingles. This can be complicated to understand them all. Ask us which roofing system work best in the specific area you live depending on your budget… Yup, a budget is probably the most important part. We all want the best at the least amount of cost possible. While that is achievable understand that the most important part of the budgeting is what value you will get for the investment in a new roof. That is essential to making a decision. Let us guide you in understanding the value we bring you and your home.
