Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We charge by the square foot for the material necessary to complete the requested work. This is different than the square feet of your entire house, and therefore every job is different so we need to come and physically measure every new project. We can not give a bid over the phone.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We will schedule an estimate, meet at the designated time, answer questions, and give you details/options for the job requested. Sometimes we give you a price in person, and sometimes we will email you a proposal depending on the complexity of the desired project as well as your time restraints.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
We have been in this business since 2006. The owner has learned everything from the ground up, so to speak. We stay current on the manufacturers recommendations, and implement any new way of doing things that will make a project better. We also attend training that is put on by our product manufacturing companies.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I, Zach Potts the owner started in 2006 as a siding installer for large companies. I had a drive and desire to learn, and to one day start my own company. After a couple years as a subcontractor I started selling my own jobs, and during that time I learned how to install roofing, windows, doors, and gutters. No one wants to teach others how to sell jobs, and start a business, because then they are training their competition. So, I had to figure the selling and business side out the hard way, trial and error. My basic philosophy was to complete the projects as discussed with the homeowner in a high quality, professional manner, and that mentality has served my company/customers well, and is still the way I do things now.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Residential home owners, builders, rental property owners, and churches.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
There are a few recent projects where we had multiple trades on one house. The crews and myself grew to become friends with these folks, and some of them even cooked us lunch everyday! These jobs lasted about 3-4 weeks. Typically we do a tear off and replace shingle roof in one day, a whole house of siding in 3 weeks, and gutters in one day.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Verify contractors before you even call them for an estimate. You can look at google reviews, Better Business Bureau rating, and talk to friends and family around town. I know it's a hassle...but it's your money. There are many contractors who will leave you disappointed for many different reasons, BEWARE. If something sounds to good to be true, then it just might be. Also, cheap is not usually best. As a business owner I can tell you that being professional, and doing quality work costs a little more. I would also tell you that just because some company is really expensive doesn't mean that they will be really good. Some companies are so big that you become just another number. Basically, look at your options and make sure you get a company that will serve your needs well.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What is the cost, and are there any expected additional costs? What does the process look like after signing a contract? When will payment be due? Will the company clean up? Are there better options that a professional would know about that the homeowner doesn't? For example-small up-charge for a significantly better product.
