What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
At Roof Boost, fair pricing is important. Roof Boost provides the best quality of American labor and materials with a full roofing system at a fair price. I will not sacrifice the quality of labor or materials to bring our prices down, but I am willing to sacrifice profit for a family, business, or individual in need. It is important to care for our neighbors and we are your neighbors.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to fully understand what the goal is for our potential customers so I'm able to provide the best services they need. Sometimes a roof just needs a repair, or sometimes the roof isn't the problem at all. Our goal in all things is excellence and integrity, and thorough communication is a crucial part of that. Here is a simplified breakdown of our standard process.
1) Understand your goal.
2) Identify the solution.
3) Draft an estimate and thoroughly communicate the process.
4) Schedule work to be completed.
5) Complete work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am licensed and insured in Roofing and Carpentry and have invested years of my life toward mastering the trades. I regularly study manufacturer specifications, Changes in building code requirements for installation and the legalities of business and tax structure in both our beautiful state of South Carolina and federally for our United States of America.
As the always on site leader of my employees:
I Train them thoroughly in each step of their specific tasks with safety and quality of work being the primary objective. I also work along side my men on every job, leading the way and upholding the standard of excellence in craftsmanship and customer service at Roof Boost.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began my journey in the roofing industry as an Insurance Claims Specialist for a local roofing contractor and invested my way up to ultimately train and manage, but something was always missing. I thought I could bridge the gap between running a profitable business and conducting business with integrity, but my efforts were always undone. Ultimately, integrity won and walked out the door with me as I searched for a deserving company where I could apply my skillsets. After several attempts and failing to find a company of such standing, I decided I would have to start my own company and build it slowly from the ground up. I put years of my own time into developing standing operating procedures and safety manuals, studying the skilled trade of roofing, and understanding the legalities of a proper American workforce. Little did I know that all those years I was laying the groundwork for my own company that is now proudly known as Roof Boost.
What types of customers have you worked with?
The BEST kind! We love our customers. Many introductions that began as simple business have turned into lasting friendships. One major advantage of having an all American company is our ability to communicate with our customers on and off-site and build friendship throughout the process of roofing.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Most recently we were asked to inspect a brand new roof that had a persistent leak after several attempts by the previously hired contractor to fix it. After inspecting the roof, I found that the underlayment had been installed improperly, the nails had been driven in the wrong location, and the drip edge had been installed upside down and backward. Also, after their first roof leaked their remedy was to install another roof directly over the first rather than tear it off and do it right. Unfortunately, they made all the same installation mistakes the second time as-well. We were able to remove both brand new roofs and install a proper roofing system at a reduced price. The project only took one day, and I was proud to help with a reduced price to help a neighbor in need.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Not everyone will choose to work with Roof Boost, and that's okay. Whatever you decide, I will always want to ensure you are given the best of care and Professionalism. The best way I can guarantee that is by working with us, but I have given countless consults on other roofing projects we had no part in, and I am honored to provide my expert unbiased opinion to anyone who requests it.
Here are some tips for dealing with any roofing company:
Check their license, insurance, and workforce. Often this documentation is forged or borrowed and you're dealing with a salesman, not a roofer. Here are some questions to ask to break through the slippery salesmen.
1) What is your worker's comp class code?
2) How many pieces are used to flash a chimney?
3) What are the spacing requirements for nails in shingles and underlayment?
These are just random questions that are sure to catch a salesperson off guard. Be sure they answer your question and don't dance around it. For the proper answers feel free to reach out. Know that there is more than one acceptable answer based on region, material manufacturer, and warranty requirements, but the details in the answers are what count.
Also, Check the name on their license and insurance. Is it the same name as the individual you are dealing with? Will you be signing papers with a licensed and insured contractor or an individual who claims to be?
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
When do I want the work done?
What is my budget?
Do I have homeowners insurance that may cover the majority of the cost?
Please feel free to call or text for a free consult and I can help you explore the possibilities as an experienced, unbiased neighbor who values what is best for you.
