Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Our estimates and inspections are free. After an inspection, we will provide a no obligation quote. No money is accepted until job is complete.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We will set up an appointment to do a free inspection of your work at your convenience. In most circumstances, an estimate can be provided same day. We will thoroughly explain the system we have in place for install day. Upon acceptance, we will schedule the work to suit you. Our average job is complete 2 weeks after signing the contract.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
As the owner of the company, I've been working in the construction industry for 21 years; starting as a laborer and working my way up. We are lead safe certified and have earned metal roof system certification from Conklin.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started as a laborer on a roofing and framing crew. I really enjoyed the work and grew from there to eventually having my own subcontracting crew and now managing several teams capable of handling multiple jobs at once in all aspects of the home's exterior.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We don't discriminate with customers - if you have a problem, we want to help you get it taken care of. We've completed all types of work from the smallest of roof repairs to complete condo association replacements.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We recently completed an emergency roof replacement on a 5000 sq ft church camp. Recent storms had blown off numerous shingles and there were several active leaks. This was in mid January, there was 5" of snow on the roof. We arrived as soon as the temps reached the mid 40's - warm enough to shingle. We shoveled all the snow off of the roof, removed all existing roofing, and replaced water damaged plywood. We installed ice guard on the bottom edges of the roof and around various pipes and hood ducts and synthetic underlayment everywhere else. We installed all new drip edge and starter shingles around the entire perimeter of the roof. We put a GAF 40 year architectural shingle back down. Then we installed new 40 year pipe boots and a rigid ridge vent. All pipes were painted to match the new shingles. This is a roof designed to last! The area was thoroughly cleaned up. All this was complete in a day and a half. Once all the snow melted from the yard, we returned and swept the entire area with magnets to be certain no trash was left behind. We left a very happy customer, who was now ready to take on the next group of kids.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
A lot of the legwork for finding a reputable contractor has already been done for you in the form of online reviews. Take a minute to check the reviews of your prospect from a couple different sources to make sure they are the right fit. Also make sure that you are comfortable with your contractor's warranty. We only work with manufacturers that have the highest industry warrranties and provide a 10 year labor warranty on all of our work.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Remember to ask about system warranties, both for the materials as well as the labor. If storm damage, ask what experience the contractor has in working with insurance companies. We work with all carriers, and use the same software the insurance companies use to create estimates. Any reputable contractor should be able to provide local references that showcase their work; ask them to provide.
