Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We care about quality workmanship at a fair price. Each job is quoted based on the work required for your roof repair/gutter work. We will work with any budget and offer monthly payment plans.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Just like people, every home is different. We work to quickly address your concerns - most visits are scheduled within 2 days of the initial call at no charge. Our trained inspector will go to your home and look at the area of concern. At that point he will share pictures on what was found and recommend next steps. We take the time to talk through to differnt options to complete the repair and discuss next steps.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
We bring over 40 years construction knowledge and customer service to our clients. We know home repairs can be stressful and we like to over-communicate work schedules, repair updates and share completion photo's. The Village Roofs team consists of a NC Licensed General Contrator, a Home Insurance Expert and fully vetted installation crews. On all roof installations there is a field operations team member on-site to answer questions and assure the work is completed to our standards.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Two families are the heart of Village Roofs. Our son did extensive work as a wilderness trail guide, so his job criteria was to work outside and if he could climb something - even better! Hence he started in roofing sales many years ago. Our Field Operations lead spent decades as a project supervisor for major home builders such as Deltona and Maronda and brings a wealth of construction knowledge to the team. Our office lead spent over 30 years in sales, marketing and customer service, In many ways - we're not a "typical" roofing company.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We support a wide range of residential roofing and gutter projects. Most of our work are with home-owners who are dealing with a roof/insurance issues for the first time. We try to make this as easy as possible and work within busy family schedules. We take the time to educate people on everything from the latest materials and the process to repair or replace their roof. We will be your advocate for the insurance company to ensure all materials needed are captured in the scope of work - frequently securing additional funds for the repair.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Most roof replacements are completed within 1-2 days. A recent roof replacement in Belews Creek took several months. It was an old roof with recognized wind damage, but the insurance company insisted that the homeowner needed to repair just the few damaged shingles versus covering the cost of replacing the roof. We had to document both a shingle brittle test and simulate a roof repair before they agreed to cover the roof replacement. This took an additional two months of back and forth with the insurance company - but the end result is they funded a beautiful new roof for the home-owner. This is how we support our clients.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I think there are a two key questions to ask a roofer: 1. Are they local? Will they be there to support you at a later date? 2. What is their labor warranty? If a problem develops will they come back to fix it - for how long?
