Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Our pricing at 3Z is very detailed. You will see a proposal broken down to all the materials & labor you are receiving. We offer free inspections/estimates. Our pricing is not inflated and there are no high pressure commissioned sales people. We will always deliver you our best price up front! That is what 3Z is all about! The 3 Zeros… Zero Pressure. Zero Haggle. Zero Down. We also have several financing options available too!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
An initial phone call to set up an on site no cost inspection. During that inspection we will discuss what you are looking to accomplish, discuss options and products, secure measurements, and answer any questions you have for us. From there we will work up a proposal for you that will be delivered via email(no pressure) as quickly as possible. If you should decide to hire us at that point, that’s when the fun begins!!! We finalize all the colors, details, and designs and then get everything ordered. Once materials hit our warehouse, we will reach out to schedule the installation of your new roof, siding, windows, or doors. We arrive on time and take good care of your property as we work, keeping a clean job-site until we are finished and you are thrilled with the final product!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Exterior remodeling is like walking up a down moving escalator. Continuing education and finding ways to improve are paramount to success. We are licensed contractors in MD. But we also work closely with manufacturers like GAF, CertainTeed, James Hardie, Provia, and others to make sure we are installing products in a manor that satisfies and often times exceeds their requirements.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My Grandfather was a builder. He was my idol. He took great pride in the projects he worked on over the years. He told me when I started in this industry to be the 3rd Pig! Meaning to build things right, with quality materials. I take great pride in helping homeowners in a way that will make them happy & would make Grandpappy Brown proud.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We work with mostly residential clients that are looking for retail jobs or insurance related jobs. We also work with the Prayer Community having done several jobs for Churches & Synagogues all throughout Maryland. One of the biggest roofs we ever did was on a big beautiful barn…. So technically we also work for Horses!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We recently finished up a roof, siding, and trim job that was contracted after a hail storm damaged a home in Cockeysville MD. The clients insurance provider was originally only offering 16k for some repairs and partial replacement. We were able to help this homeowner secure almost 60k for a full replacement of siding, roofing, gutters, and trim. It took a few months to get the insurance provider to approve the supplement requests, but with building permits, and Maryland codes on our clients side, ultimately the right thing was done and they now have a new home at the same address!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Trust is key. Choosing a contractor can be difficult. There are several companies making an effort to earn your business, and most of them will likely do a great job. Find a company that speaks to your values. Look at the reviews and what other people are saying about them. Verify they are licensed, insured, and have a track record of making clients happy.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Before inviting contractors out to your home to give proposals on your project, it is wise to do a little research beforehand. Make sure you are dealing with a licensed contractor 1st & foremost. From there, look at reviews. Read them. When I shop for things & services I always read several reviews to get an idea of what previous clients think.
