Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
At Selina's Multiservice we believe in a very transparent pricing process. Our quotes will always be explained thoroughly to our potential customers, often going line by line so that our potential customers know what the materials and process they would be paying for. We use top of the line materials and will never be the company who cuts corners. For these reasons, we are hardly ever the lowest bidder. However, our quotes and processes prove us to be the most honest, thorough, and quality choice around.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
The process begins normally by a request to call the new customer. Though details may be exchanged via thumbtack between a customer and contractor, we strive to meet the very specific individual needs of each and every potential customer. As well as feeling that our customers deserve a chance to ask us anything about Selina's Multiservice that they may not be able to answer based off of our profile. For these reasons, a quick phone call is preferred by us. After hearing exactly what our customer needs, we will request to perform a free estimate in person so that we may accurately price the job or bring unforeseen elements to our customers attention. Seeing the job before creating a quote is essential in providing our customers with an accurate price void of any surprises. After the estimate, we then provide our customers a written quote for the services requested via email complete with a realistic available start date. Upon acceptance of any quote we then start the permitting and material ordering process immediately after accepting a deposit, no matter what the proposed start date is.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am a licensed professional with 20 plus years in the trades. I hold an unblemished CSL license, and an unblemished HIC license. The education I received in order to obtain these licenses allows my customers the benefit of knowing their job is done correctly, meaning up to MA state code or better.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I made my debut into the trades at a young age. My father introduced me to the trades at ten years old, as my brothers and I were part of a working class family. We were all part of a family owned and operated roofing/construction company. Seeing the type of treatment my father strived to give his customers has solidified my belief that every job is and should be treated as a "custom job". I strive everyday to give my customers the peace of mind and satisfaction that my father made very clear to me was essential to success in the construction world.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with all types of customers, across many facets of construction. I have worked with customers who needed small repairs, customers who needed large installations/replacements, customers with both large and small budgets, customers who have previously had bad experiences with contractors, customers who weren't entirely sure of what their specific project entailed, customers who are contractors themselves, etc. Every one of my customers past, present, and future are equally important to Selina's Multiservice. The most important part of my business is to leave every single customer satisfied enough to recommend me to others, this to me is the true test of whether or not a customer is happy with the services provided.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
One of my more recent projects was a huge siding/roof replacement in Dracut MA. Pictures are showcased on my profile. I am proud of this project not because the scale of work and that it was a large project. But rather, I am proud of the degree of customization we were able to deliver to our customer. The end result was spectacular! We were even able to install new roofing/siding to her shed using leftover material to keep the cost minimal, and now it matches the new look of the house perfectly!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
The best advice I can give anybody looking to hire a pro for any project has everything to do with qualifications and verifications. Your home is your castle, it's best to ensure that you have the right pro who is qualified to do the work you need, and who can provide references/reviews so that you may verify that they have successfully satisfied the needs of other customers who needed similar projects done. Your pro should readily boast a CSL license and an HIC license, both of which are required to perform work in the state of MA. Look to see that these two licenses have been confirmed on their page, and look further to verify their license numbers are unblemished through the contractor lookup via the state of MA website. Also, your chosen pro should be able to provide you with insurance certificates at the drop of a hat. Working with an unlicensed and/or uninsured pro puts you and your home at risk. Lastly, don't be shy to ask for references. Most professionals in our business have dozens of references to provide in addition to the reviews we boast on our profiles. Quaification and Verification!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
There are many moving parts involved in any project, big or small. The end result of a project is always better if there is a strong line of communication between homeowner and contractor. Before engaging with a contractor some things you may want to think through are; what is my budget?, can I correctly convey my specific needs to my contractor or do I need some assistance in doing so?, am I ready to go through with this project once I find the pro that best matches my needs, or am I not sure if I am ready to commence my project?
