Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We bid each job and/or service based on the needs of that individual customer.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We schedule an appointment to measure the job and access the needs of the homeowner. Most times we are able to price the job on the initial consultation. We offer options most contractors either can't or wont to give the consumer all the information they need to make the best decision for them.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I grew up helping my father and grandfather build decks, fencing, and general home maintenance and repairs. They were both incredible mentors who taught me the value of doing it right the 1st time and never accepting less than perfect work.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
In the mid 80's a football coach got me a job carrying shingles up ladders during the summer while I was in high school. While I was in college I started selling roof jobs during the summer after hail storms. By the mid-90's I was a GM for a 6=7 million dollar a year company that traveled with hail storms. The traveling didn't work well for my family so I started Supreme in 2006 focusing on roofing, siding, windows and gutters. Because Supreme doesn't chase storm work, we had to develop a business model that included services homeowners were looking for every year including decks, fences, painting, and interior remodels.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
At Supreme, we can service the entire KC Metro area, from the million dollar mansions to the landlord needing a cheap repair and everything in between.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Over 6 weeks, we had a 3 man crew build a new 6 foot privacy fence, a 12x24 deck, and remove and replace the siding on a house in Blue Springs. We also painted the new lap siding, replaced the storm doors, and painted the gutters and downspouts and the foundation of the home. Gave the home a completely updated look and made it the envy of everybody on the block.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Hire the contractor that wants to help you get what you want.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
I would encourage homeowners to have a good idea of the materials to be used in a project and to only hire a contractor they feel comfortable with..... I get a lot of calls to come in and finish a job half way thru because the contractor disappeared or the homeowner fired them. I almost always find out that they went with the cheapest bid. If you need the cheap bid, save some more until you can comfortable afford the best bid.....high quality material and craftsmen at reasonable prices.
