Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
It's not easy to have a standard price because every project is different. You can only have a standard if you are fixed to replace roofs. We only offer what's best for our customers and in many cases total roof replacement is not necessary. So every project needs to be inspection to determine what will be needed to supply a weathertight roofing system.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Good communication and attempt to explain the process so that the customer has a good understanding of what's wrong with there roof and how we plan to address the issues.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Have 30 years of experience.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My father started the company in 1971 and I grew up in the business.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Well we have commercial and industrial customers and many HOA customers..

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We where called out to a multi unit condo building and they had a roofer that they had used for years and where told that the entire roof needed to be removed and replaced because there where leaks that kept returning. Upon our inspection we found that the repairs where not done properly and that's why they would return. We repaired all previous repairs and any areas that where suspect for future leakage / we reflashed all roofing vents and pipes then applied an industrial grade reconditioning and reflective coating and warrantied the entire roof for 5 years. We have had major rain storms since the job has been completed and the project is prefect. We are fond of this job because the customer saved at least $ 25,000.00 dollars and they are vary happy with the work. They mentioned they don't know the last time there where no leaks in there building.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
The contractor must be vary informative because most customers have no idea what it takes when it comes to roofing. Communication is so import tax because if a roofer isn't good at communication in the beginning, it will only get worse after they have received payment and the customer may have a problem needing them to honor there warranty. Also don't be fooled with 5 year warranty from the contractor and 10-15 years manufacture material warranty. Your warranty is only good as the roofer is willing to stand by the job. Manufacture materials warranties are only if the membrane is defective and if so (which is vary rare) they will only supply materials and the customer will have to pay a roofer to install the material and possibly to remove the old membrane. That's why are new roofs start off with at least a 10 year warranty (labor and material)

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Well the unfortunate thing with receiving multiple bids is that you also have multiple opinions about what needs to be done. So they should think through first what do they think needs to be done and make sure that the contractors are very informative and not robotic only offering new roofing. Some roofers are so robotic they don't even go on the roofs to inspect. That should be a red flag for customers.
