Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We provide our best price upfront with no hidden-fees ever! No coupon gimmicks necessary.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Our process starts with your first communication with Ellie who will act as your customer-advocate. Ellie will ask all the pertinent information needed to schedule your free consultation/estimate. You will meet with our Estimator who will not try to sell you a roof, but will inform you of the entire roof installation process, explain the shingles and warranties we offer (and why!) while pointing out any special considerations for your roof and how we will incorporate your needs and desires into our proposal. We do not employ hard-selling tactics. In fact, you'll likely be emailed your proposal the next day so that you can take the time needed to fully review our proposal, discover any questions, and feel confident (not pressured!) into choosing MW Roofing to install your new roof (or windows, siding, etc.).

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
MW Roofing LLC is a 5-STAR Select Shingle Master with Certainteed (top 1% of roofers nationwide!) To receive this accreditation, our crew and Foreman had to pass installation tests (as opposed to some shingle manufacturers who only require a payment to receive accreditation.) MW Roofing LLC also holds a 5-STAR Siding Master with Certainteed, again, earned by requiring our installers to actually pass tests to reach that accreditation.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Chad Wloczewski is the Owner and Founder of MW Roofing LLC and has been roofing since his teens with his father in his hometown of Ephrata, PA. Chad worked for years with a large roofing company in his hometown where he was taught all roofing techniques in asphalt shingles, metal roofing products, TPO and EPDM flat roofing systems, ceramic tile, slate, etc. Chad decided to move to Delaware, where his best friend and eventual business partner lived, to start MW Roofing in 2007.

What types of customers have you worked with?

MW Roofing works with various types of customers including residential homeowners, Churches, Civic Groups, local municipalities, and Commercial customers. We are also proud partners of Habitat for Humanity.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Some good tips and what to look out for when getting estimates for your project: 1) A good roofing estimator will get on your roof to see first-hand what condition your shingles are in, if there are any areas that require special attention (chimneys, pipe collar locations, skylights, etc.), confirm the number of layers of shingles, walk on slope(s) to see if there are any soft spots which would indicate plywood replacement needed, and properly measure the roof. 2) Be weary of hard-sell techniques. When the price starts enormously high and then lowers by thousands before the estimator leaves your home, you can be certain you are being severely over-charged for the project. Also, be aware of the sell tactic of selling by a low monthly payment (and not the total cost you are being charged!) 3) Proposals that promise free wood replacement. Free usually means none. 4) Vaguely written proposal that uses "and/or" when describing the shingles and warranties that are being offered. The proposal should be clearly written outlining the exact shingle and warranty you will be receiving. 5) Short-term or no workmanship/labor warranty from the installer. The number one reason for leaks within the first couple of years after a new roof installation is due to improper installation techniques and not material defects. Most manufacturer warranties do not cover workmanship issues - be sure you understand the warranty you are being given!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
In order for us to determine your specific needs when it comes to a roof replacement, we will need to know a few things. For instance, how long do you plan to be in the home? This will determine the warranty levels that would best suite your needs. Are you planning on installing solar panels on the roof in the future? What kind of temperature problems (if any) have you been experiencing in the attic space or the 2nd floor of the home? Did you think about your budget for the project and whether you are interested in possibly financing? Did you do any online research in terms of the shingles and warranties available in our area? You should also make a list of any questions you have about the roof replacement process and/or shingles and warranties available prior to your appointment so that you don't forget anything. Thinking about these things can help your new roof consultation run quickly and smoothly.
