What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We are fair on our pricing, and we do not pass - on our jobs to other contractors, thus eliminating price gauging! All our pricing is based on the square footage of the home, not the area or community that you live in. We do not require payment for any estimates. Estimates are free!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We like to first come look at the property physically always. At a set schedule and at a set time and day. First impression is everything and we like to earn our clients trust and respect by walking through the job together. We separate all the work that needs to be done in an invoice breakdown, that way you know what the charges are distinctly and don't receive an estimate with one price.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Education - I am licensed through the state of California (CSLB) Contractors State Licensing Board. I went through a contracting school in preparation for the state exam, at (CSLP) Contractors State License Preparation. Before you can even be considered to take the California exam you need a minimum of 4 years on field experience. My roofing experience is 12 years.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Years ago, I was enrolled in a community college trade program for Welding, there is a total of 3 classes for a full welders Certification. (Regular Welding, Vertical Welding, and Overhead welding.) At the time I had only completed 2 classes out of the three, Regular & Vertical. Before I could start the third and final class, the college trade program lost the funding due to low attendee's and no more backing from the County. The next option was to go to another trade school (Private College), but the problem was they offered no grants, and they required for me to take all three classes in their own program. I would have to start all over. I got a much-needed job in a roofing company as a temporary gig, I never would've imagined that I'd actually like it. Soon after I began to love it, transforming old houses to new stunning homes.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with all kinds of customers, Commercial and Residential Owners, Property Investors, Property Management Companies, LLC's, HOA's, POA's, and General Contractors.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
It's hard to pick a certain project, we have done countless. All projects are pretty much something I'm fond of, I am proud to say everything is done carefully, efficiently, and most importantly, correctly!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Get a minimum of 3 Bids, (Estimates), on your project. That way you can compare prices and details in the estimate wording. Also don't be afraid to ask questions and most importantly don't forget to ask for references with addresses. Anybody or company can give you a phone number of a relative and they will tell you that their work is phenomenal. With an address you can simply look up the property on Google maps and reference the contractor's pictures with Google's pictures of the property and see if they match!
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Never ask how long it will take, some contractors will have a home done in 2 days, some will take 5 days and you don't want to make it seem like you are eager for them to finish. Always ask for the Project Lead or Foremans name and phone number. Remember they will be at your property daily until completed, the Company or Contractor you made the deal with will most likely not be. Also make sure that they pull the proper permits with the city. Most companies or Contractors will not pull a permit due to loss of time. They want to hurry up and take off the roof and install it before the city has a chance to look at anything. Remember the city inspections are put in place to protect you, the homeowner, not them!
