How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I began roofing at a young age, continuing a family tradition that started with my grandfather, Earl Clark. In 1963, he established Earl Clark Roofing Inc. in Phoenix, Arizona. My father and his brothers were integral to the business, and I spent summers, weekends, and school breaks working alongside them. After completing my education, I joined the family business full-time, embracing the legacy and skills passed down through generations.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
One recent project that stands out involved assisting a homeowner with a persistent roof leak. The homeowner, on a fixed budget, had been unable to resolve the issue despite multiple attempts. Project Overview • Initial Inspection: Upon inspecting the roof, I identified not only the source of the leak but also extensive wind damage across other areas. •Material Obsolescence: The existing tiles were no longer manufactured, complicating direct replacements. •Insurance Coordination: Recognizing that the damage could be covered under the homeowner’s insurance, I sought and obtained her permission to liaise with the insurance company on her behalf. •Approval and Replacement: After several months of coordination and negotiation, I successfully secured approval for a complete roof replacement at no out-of-pocket cost to the homeowner. Project Duration: •Inspection and Assessment: One Week •Insurance Coordination: Several months (this duration can vary depending on the complexity of the claim and responsiveness of the insurance company) •Roof Replacement: Once approved, the physical replacement of the roof was completed in approximately 1 week. This project was particularly fulfilling as it not only resolved the homeowner’s immediate concerns but also provided her with a durable, long-term solution without financial strain.
