What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Usually by the hour but will bid a job.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We will meet and go over the scope of what is needed. Agree an acceptable terms and material pricing. Complete job in a timely manner.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Some courses in electrical but self taught over many years of hands on training in a variety of fields.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

When I moved to California 20 years ago the place I was staying needed some work done and from there it snowballed into a full time word of mouth job. My Father was a builder and a building inspector so I had exposure to the field but never took it up till later in life.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Residential, Property management, realtors, commercial, bars and restaurants.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I constructed a room under a deck that over hung a hill. I waterproofed the deck with drains, then recreated wood deck on top. I built a custom room with 11 windows, built in bench, cabinet, bookshelf. Custom glass door with recessed lighting and power. It has a glass roof on the half that wasnt covered by the deck roof over hanging over the hill. That took a few months.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I just moved to the area. I'm still learning.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

The budget for the job. Reasonable expectations on what things may cost. Time. Have a Reasonable expectation of time. More often than not people assume that things can be done faster than they tend to take. Both are important to discuss before any job starts.
