Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I offer flat rate and hourly estimates and do offer periodic discounts for referrals, multiple projects / repeat customer work.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
During the initial contact and triage phase I will usually contact the customer to provide pricing, verify work expectations /safety requirements (if applicable) and answer any questions or concerns customer may have prior to scheduling service. During the course of any service I may take pre and post service photos of equipment/areas being worked to aid in ordering parts, and for quality assurance purposes.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have provided technical services my entire career since the 90's primarily in the field of information technology but have always had a strong background in construction and DIY repair work. Over time I have acquired the advanced skills and training to take on additional types of projects to include finish carpentry, demolition and remodelling work, drywall installation and repair, and electrical wiring/ plumbing work.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I work with both commercial business and residential clients.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Be sure to check for established references and establish clear expectations of what you need from the contractor as far as project completion time and if you need to have certain areas masked off from construction dust/ debris. Get an agreement from the pro in advance to have work areas cleaned up prior to them leaving each working day. Many contractors have several projects being worked and things such as weather/ shipment delays could affect project completion timeline.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Project timing, Site availability/ working hours, estimated budget/ affordability, and payment timing (preferably after job completion but most pros would expect some form of payment in advance for material purchases)
