Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Customers should know I usually charge a few to come out and take a look at the issue, not only to game plan and appropriate estimate, but be able to give them appropriate options from which they may discern from that meets their best interest. Under normal circumstances I charge by the job, but I do discount the total price if there are more issues to be fixed all at once!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
My typical process for working with a new customer, is figure out the root issue with them, and guide them through my thought process, I try to give full transparency in the different options available for resolving the issue and the pros and cons of each. I also take into consideration the customers comfortability and overall satisfaction, letting them know I truly care about solving their problem!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
My background is in construction, and particularly the plumbing field! I have been doing that line of work for 5-6 years and love doing it! My education stems a lot from technical training in the Air Force, as well as the continual on the job training and training courses provided therein. After becoming a civilian I worked for several plumbing companies where I was able to continually improve my knowledge and skills in the craft!

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I got started in this line of work in the military. I joined the Air Force and the job I chose was Water and Fuel Systems Maintenance, which translates in the civilian world to environmental engineering, and/or, plumbing! From that point on, I've been hooked!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I've worked with several different customers! But most have just been renters, homeowners, and property owners.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Several recent projects I've done and am fond of are water heater replacements! They're quite the undertaking, but it's definitely a top 3 necessity and urgency as far as a homes plumbing system in concerned! The very last one was a struggle, elevated in a closet inside the townhome, but once logistics were squared away I was able to get it done in about 2 hours

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
If you're going to hire a provider in your area, be sure they're knowledgeable about the task, look at the work they've completed, and make sure they have a genuine interest in the work!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Customers should seriously consider whether they can do the job themselves or have time to do so. When considering a professional, they're giving their time, their knowledge/skills/experience, and often their own expenses to provide a thorough service. Customers should consider how much their willing to spend, and research the entirety of what a particular project may entail.
