What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We offer flat rate pricing. We discuss all your options up front before any work is started. That way there are no surprise charges on your bill!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We need to schedule an in person appointment so that we can get our eyes on the project. Every home can present different challenges and we don't want to give a price over the phone, only to find out that our assumptions were not correct. By coming to your home or business, we can be sure we give you the right price the first time.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

We have several Journeyman plumbers on staff who are supported by managers with over 25 years of experience. All of our younger plumbers are enrolled in the local PHCC journeyman apprenticeship training programs. We believe that education never stops and we work hard to stay on top of the latest technological advancements in plumbing as well.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

Spencer started plumbing at the age of 19. He worked for his parents for over 20 years as a service technician plumber. In 2018 when the retired, he bought the business with his wife and together they have continued to do what they love, training the next generation of plumbers and serving customers with high quality customer service.

What types of customers have you worked with?

We work with all residential, commercial and industrial customers.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We love a good challenge, such as replacing hundreds of feet of water line in the hills of Oakland. It took some thought to make sure the dirt we removed didn't fall down the hill, we took advantage of rerouting the line so that it was more efficient in distance, and we were able to install several hose bibs around the house for more efficient watering of their garden. Tough job but we all felt very satisfied with the results!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Make sure the are licensed and insured. You never know what kind of damages can occur. A provider who takes the time to get license and insured will also more likely be around in 5-10 years to honor any warranties on work performed. We have been operating as Mr. Rooter Plumbing, a locally owned and operated franchise since 1998. We have been in the game a long time and don't plan on going anywhere!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Ask lots of questions about what else could be going on or what else you could do for repairs. We believe in providing 3-5 options on every job. Sometimes the quick fix is not the right answer. We believe in fixing things the right way, not the easy way. Sometimes options can help you save money in the long run by doing a repair that will last longer than the quick fix.
