Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We are pretty straight forward with our pricing. With lawn care we can usually quote a price with readily available internet data (the same goes for gutter cleaning and pressure washing). With handyman projects, we're $65 and hour for one tradesman and $95 and hour for a tradesman and an apprentice. In the event we can't manage to get ya a price together via text/phone, we do charge a $35 (fully rebateable) estimate fee. Our hourly rate is charged from the time of departure from the previous job but ends when we are finished on your particular job. In the event we have to get material for a handyman task, the time and expense is charged to the customer. There is a 3.5% processing fee for credit card payments (imposed by the credit card processor) that can be avoided by paying in cash, check or ACH transfer.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We typically get as much information as we can via text message about the job. We find that having a text record keeps the misunderstandings to a minimum and allows the client to communicate at their leisure. Of course you can call and speak directly with us, but texting is our preferred method. Once we get the basic customer information and job details, most of the time we can quote you a price over the phone. If we can't work out the details over-the-phone then one of our team members will come out at your earliest convenience to go over the project in detail.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I personally have over 30 years in the construction industry. I got my start in exterior and interior renovations at about 14 years old, working for my uncle, owner of Merritt Construction. I moved on to the electrical field where I obtained a Master's License, GENERAC certifications and OSHA certifications and from there got into construction management and certified on the installation of virtually all exterior home coverings.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I was born into it.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with all sorts of customers throughout the years.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Recently we did a deck renovation for a woman in Portsmouth that came out right nice

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Pick someone you like. Communication is important and if ya don't like each other you'll avoid communicating over key issues that will lead to less than ideal circumstances.
