What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We have a $900 minimum job size, so we recommend calling a gardener instead for smaller jobs.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Upon receiving a request, we will come out and provide a written, emailed price quote and description of work to be provided. This can be approved or declined by simply pushing a button in your email. If approved, we then schedule the job and email an invoice upon completion.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

All of our crews have an experienced team member with an average of more than 8 years experience, who is typically paired with an apprentice. We provide training in safe use of tools and plant identification -- to ensure the proper plants are saved or cleared.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

We began in the 1980s with goat grazing, but since shifted to handheld machine clearing and are now transitioning to electric machines.

What types of customers have you worked with?

We primarily work with homeowners and vacant lot owners in the Oakland Hills who need their properties cleared of hazardous weeds, vines and brush each year for fire safety or aesthetic needs.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We cleared a new customer's property who called us and needed the work done ASAP. We happened to have availability and scheduled the work to be done the same day that we provided the estimate.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Make sure whoever you hire is: 1. Insured with liability and worker's compensation insurance, so that you won't be on the hook for any injuries, broken windows, or other damage. 2. Knowledgeable about plants, so the plants you want saved aren't accidentally cut down. 3. In compliance with Oakland's new ordinance banning gas-powered string trimmers and blowers.

1. Know where your property boundaries are. 2. Mark which plants/shrubs you want to save. 3. Know why you're clearing.
