$25 is minimum price for a minimum job.Every yard is different, every client has different demands, values & expectations. Each new situation has to be evaluated on its own merits. Prices shown on Thumbtack.com are estimates only.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Free estimate/consultation. I look over the job with a potential client making note of any special problems, issues, requests and instructions. If I'm committed to keep him/her happy, I offer single price flat rate, per mow. If they accept the offer then it's my pleasure. to keep the yard to the clients satisfaction.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have 20 years of experience, as a lawn service man mostly in the Crescent City Ca. / Brookings Or. area. DBA Bill's Lawn Care Moved to Roseville Ca 2015 and became Bill Lyon Lawn Mowing

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I was 9 yrs old in 1961 when I sold my first lawn job to Pat Wilson of Cupertino Ca. for $2, I was saving up to buy a Daisy BB gun. it took me 3 hrs ( those prices don't work anymore. ) It was a terrific BB gun.

What types of customers have you worked with?

All my customers are (1) homeowners who hate lawnmowers and weed-eaters (2) or busy people with precious little spare time. (3) anyone else who wants to buy my services.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Recently I did a lawn for a lady I'll call Mabel. When I was done I smiled and told her I thought she would be happy with the job. She looked a little sad when she politely pointed out that I had missed a spot with my weed-eater in the corner in the back. I issued the appropriate apology and immediately corrected the situation. (all smiles :-)

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Thumbtack website is pretty well organized to protect the consumer and the professional . I like what they do for me, and my clients are happy with their results.

It helps the process if you can; 1. Be specific about the service you want and DON'T want 2. Have a firm idea of how often you need service. 3. Know about what you expect to pay. 4. If you can send photos with original inquiry, it helps.
