What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We offer a free water check to see where the water went. We have a few ways to help a customer in need. Most of time the job will be an insurance claim and normally we do not take any money from the homeowner unless a deductible is applicable. The invoice is sent to the insurance company kind like a doctor. If insurance is not an option or the job is under the deductible, then we give an estimate where they can pay out of pocket, or we will even finance it in some special cases.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

When a homeowner calls with a water damage, we get a truck on the road right away to come help. We try make it as easy as possible for the homeowner.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

The team at Restoration 1 is IICRC and IAQA licensed restoration professionals offering fire, water, and mold damage restoration services.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

A long time ago, after high school, I started a job working for a restoration company and after seeing there was a need for more companies in the greater Houston area providing these services and decided to open one of my own.

All kinds, bad things happen to everyone. We understand that the people we work with are going through a stressful and emotionally difficult time. Because of this, we strive to provide caring and courteous support, upfront communication, and effective services to our customers.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We had a new home owner (less than a month of ownership) that bought the home of their dreams. After living in the home for just a few weeks, their daughter woke up to water on her bedroom floor. The tankless water heater busted in the attic, and water had ran down the wall, through the ceiling and covered a third of their new home in just a few mins. They immediately called us. We had a truck and team out to them right away. Once we arrived, we found the issue and took care of the water damage. We also called a plumber to come out right then and take care of the water heater so they could have water for the night. During this time, they had a family emergency out of state. We assured them we would handle this and to go be with their family. So they left us the keys for a few days to continue working on the situation and have the home dry. We coordinated with the plumber to install the new water heater and had their furniture moved back into the rooms when they came home.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

If you have a water damage from a broken pipe, ac leak, dishwasher/washing machine leak/overflow or countless other things don't wait. Treat it like a 911 call for the house.
