Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Our pricing is based on Time and Materials (T&M) billing, which offers our customers a transparent and flexible approach to project costs. This method allows you to be in the driver’s seat, ensuring that quality is never compromised by the limitations of flat-rate pricing. With T&M, you have full control over the budget, materials, and time invested, giving you peace of mind that every dollar is spent to achieve the best possible outcome for your project.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Our process for working with a new customer begins with an initial phone call where we discuss your project to ensure it aligns with the type of work we specialize in. During this conversation, we take the time to learn more about you, your residence, and the specifics of your project. If everything checks out at a high level, we schedule an in-person site visit to walk through the project and discuss it further. Based on our assessment, we provide a budgetary range for the project. If this range aligns with your budget, we proceed by drafting an official proposal. Upon your approval, we collect contract signatures and retainers, setting the stage for either pre-construction planning or the actual construction services to commence. This structured approach ensures clarity, transparency, and alignment from the very start.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Our firm is comprised of some of the most credentialed and experienced professionals in the construction industry, with a track record spanning from small residential renovations to the construction of towers in major cities. DeJesus Industries is MBE certified, OSHA certified, and both EPA and HUD certified, ensuring that we meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility. We are also licensed in multiple states along the East Coast, which allows us to operate across a broad range of projects. We take great care in matching each project with the individual or team within our firm that has the most relevant expertise, ensuring that every project receives the attention and skill it deserves.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Our journey into the construction industry began with a deep passion for building and transforming spaces. DeJesus Industries started as an idea in 2008, driven by a commitment to quality craftsmanship and a vision to make a lasting impact in the construction world. Initially, we focused on residential remodeling while our founder, Alberto DeJesus, completed his studies at Boston University. Over time, our dedication to excellence and a desire to take on more complex projects led us to expand into larger-scale commercial and municipal construction. Today, with years of experience and a team of highly skilled professionals, we continue to grow and take pride in the projects we bring to life.

What types of customers have you worked with?

At DeJesus Industries, we've had the privilege of working with a wide range of customers, including homeowners, commercial property owners, real estate developers, and municipal entities. Our residential projects have spanned from small-scale renovations to luxury home builds, while our commercial work includes everything from office spaces to large-scale developments in major cities. We've also partnered with cultural institutions on specialized projects, drawing on our team's expertise in both historic preservation and modern construction. No matter the scope, we are committed to delivering exceptional results tailored to the unique needs of each client.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
A recent project we're particularly proud of is the extensive exterior renovation we completed at a beautiful residential mansion in Dover, Massachusetts. The homeowner entrusted us with transforming the property's exterior, and we delivered a result that exceeded expectations. This project, which took several months to complete, is part of our extensive portfolio of private residential mansion work across Eastern Massachusetts. Our experience with similar high-end properties allowed us to blend craftsmanship with meticulous attention to detail, enhancing both the aesthetic and structural integrity of the home. We take pride in our ability to bring luxury renovations to life, ensuring that every element reflects the quality our clients expect.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
When hiring a provider in the construction industry, especially for high-end residential or commercial projects, it's crucial to prioritize experience, credentials, and clear communication. Look for a firm with a proven track record of successfully completing similar projects, as this demonstrates their capability and understanding of the unique challenges involved. Ensure they are properly licensed, certified, and insured to protect your investment and comply with all regulations. It’s also important to choose a provider who is transparent about their process and pricing, and who values collaboration—this will help ensure that your vision is fully realized and that the project stays on track. Lastly, take the time to review their portfolio and ask for references to gain insight into their work quality and client satisfaction.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Before discussing your project with professionals, it's important to have a clear understanding of your goals, budget, and timeline. Consider the following questions: Scope and Vision: What is the overall vision for your project? Are there specific design elements or features you want to prioritize? Budget: What is your budget range? Are you prepared for potential adjustments if unexpected issues arise during the project? Timeline: What is your ideal start and completion date? Are there any deadlines or specific timing considerations that need to be accommodated? Quality Expectations: What level of quality and craftsmanship are you seeking? Are you open to recommendations on materials or methods that could enhance the final outcome? Decision-Making Process: Who will be the key decision-makers, and how do you prefer to communicate and make decisions throughout the project? Permits and Regulations: Are you aware of any zoning laws, permits, or regulations that may impact the project? Contract and Payment Structure: What type of contract and payment structure are you comfortable with? Are you familiar with the differences between Time & Materials (T&M) and fixed-price contracts? Thinking through these questions will help you have a more productive conversation with professionals, ensuring that you’re aligned on the key aspects of the project from the outset.
