What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Our first meeting (in person or virtual) is complimentary. After that we take a small retainer fee to get started and discuss pricing. We like to keep it affordable for our clients and to stay in your budget.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

When we first meet we talk about what a client is looking for and get a good idea of it would be a fit to work together. It is a relationship so we want to make sure it’s compatible. Once a client decides to hire us and we decide to take them on, then the fun begins. We dream together and create spaces that are what they client is looking for.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Over 20 years of helping others create beautiful spaces.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

In college I took interior design and have always had a passion for helping others create beautiful spaces! In fact - even as a child my dad would have me show (to scale) how I would rearrange my room. Little did I know that it would turn into something I loved so much. Now my husband and I get to work together on the design projects as well as the home renovations that we do together.

What types of customers have you worked with?

All kinds of customers! It’s amazing how many people you get to meet in this industry. Generally we work with home owners but I have worked on commercial properties in the past

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We are in the process of helping first time home buyers design and build their dream kitchen. We walked their new build with them, helped to design the plan, found a GC and we are about to install the cabinets. It is going to be stunning! This took about 5 months from our first meeting until now and involved design concepts, pricing, demo, reconstruction and then cabinetry, countertops, lighting and more.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Make sure you find someone that you have a good time rapport with. Kitchen remodels and design projects generally take several months or more to complete and you spend a lot of time together.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

- Have you seen pictures of spaces you love? - What is your budget? - What is your timeline? - Do you want to do any of the work yourself? - If it’s design work, do you like to search for products or would you like someone else to do it for you? - There are always more and each conversation we have is tailored to the individual client.
