Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Pricing varys quite a bit due to different situations. For example, setting a door on a new build will go significantly quicker more times then less then on an older home, due to settling framing work, possible rotting, etc.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I come in and look at the job needing to be done. I decide upon different factors that will go into the labor portion. Look up materials for pricing, and give the homeowner or GC a quote.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have almost 9 years of Framing and Finished Carpentry experience. 3 years of college at Grcc and Ferris University for business management.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I realized I thoroughly enjoyed working with my hands when I started doing little projects on my first home while I was in the military. I then realized office work just wasnt for me while I was attending Ferris University.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Commercial contractors, home owners, rental property managers, and realtors

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
There are quite a few. Weve done some brilliant kitchen remodels/new kitchens, knotty pine tongue and groove interior walls, finished basements, bathroom remodels, etc.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Shop around and get quotes, cheapest isnt necessarily the best, but you never know. You should have at the least a good feeling about any contractor you bring in your home to do work. Also make sure they have liability insurance.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Ask your contractor any question thats on your mind. No question is a dumb question, it is your home. To make things smoother though have a good general idea of what you want, and type of materials you want to use. It will save you a little money, and time.
