Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We typically provide a detailed estimate with a breakdown of different types of work, making it easier for clients to understand the scope and adjust or remove items if needed. If a client isn’t sure about certain options, we can include multiple choices in the estimate for comparison. Our pricing primarily covers labor, as finish materials can vary greatly in cost. Clients have the option to purchase materials themselves, or we can handle the purchase, with reimbursement based on actual receipts. We offer a 10% discount for seniors, military personnel, police officers, and medical workers. Thank you for your consideration!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Our typical process with a new client starts with scheduling an on-site visit. I come to the location to assess all the project details, understand the client’s requirements and preferences, and take the necessary measurements. We discuss a preliminary plan and provide a free technical consultation, offering solutions that best fit the project. After the visit, I send a detailed estimate to the client via email. Once the estimate is approved, we usually collect a 30% deposit and schedule the project. We then proceed with the work and finalize the payment upon the full completion of the project.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I hold a higher technical degree in construction from a European university. Throughout my career, I have consistently pursued various professional development courses related to different construction technologies, including concrete work, carpentry, and metal fabrication. In the U.S., I completed certified courses to work as a water damage specialist and mold treatment specialist, along with several safety training programs to ensure the safe execution of all projects.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I graduated from a construction university in Europe and started my career managing construction and restoration projects. I spent about 10 years working for a large company before running my own business for several years. During that time, we specialized in restoring castles, churches, and theaters. After moving to the U.S., I’ve been working in the remodeling and construction industry for several years. This has been my lifelong profession. Our team also includes our project manager, who has around 30 years of construction experience in Massachusetts. He has worked as a general contractor on large-scale projects, including hospitals, schools, and residential complexes.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We work with the best clients—each one of them is truly valued. Over a decade and a half in this industry, we’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients, including private homeowners, large companies, commercial businesses, and government projects. We welcome all clients and believe that there is always a solution that can meet the needs of both sides.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
When choosing a specialist in our field, I recommend working with someone who fully understands your goals. Every client has their own vision for a project, so it’s important that the contractor takes the time to listen and clarify your needs. A good professional should not only understand what you want but also offer solutions, explain the pros and cons of each option, and demonstrate technical knowledge and experience. Clear communication and a thoughtful approach are key to a successful outcome.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Before reaching out to a specialist, it’s important to have a clear understanding of what you want to achieve with your project. Every project can be approached differently, and the cost will vary depending on the chosen solution. For example, if you plan to live in the space for just a short time, it may not make sense to fully repaint all the walls—simple touch-ups might be sufficient, especially if you’re planning to sell the house, as new owners will likely choose their own colors. If you intend to stay long-term, take the time to consider your options carefully. Look for inspiration online and, if possible, consult a designer to select the right finishes and colors that suit your vision. We can then recommend specific materials and techniques that best fit your decisions. It’s also helpful to think about both the aesthetic and practical aspects of the project. Are you looking for a temporary solution or something permanent? Maintenance is another important factor—some materials or designs, while visually appealing, may require more upkeep. For instance, a small-format tile may offer a beautiful design but will have more grout lines that need regular cleaning. Taking these details into account will help you make more informed decisions and ensure the final result meets your expectations.
