Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
All Universal Construction Inc offers middle of the road pricing. We've been told time after time that we are reasonable and fall in the middle of all estimates provided. All Universal Construction offers senior citizen and military discounts anywhere from 5 to 10 percent.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
After securing a job, we schedule a contract meeting in our conference room. During our meeting we go over all workscopes, contractual agreements, timeline and answer all questions our clients may have. All Universal usually secures a down payment ranging from 30 to 50 percent depending on the size of the project. After this is all settled we start the project per start date agreement. Some projects can start within a week others take 1 or more months depending on city requirements for permit processes.

Construction is in my D.N.A. and i come from a long line of construction minded family members. Ive been around the construction field all of my adolescent and adult life. I started as a laborer and worked my way up to a lead carpentry position. I trained in the carpenters union program earning multiple classroom hours and on the job training. I was required to study architecture and blueprint preparations and creations.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked in both commercial and residential fields. I contracted work with upper, middle and lower class resident projects. On the commercial end ive worked on hotel projects, hospital and strip mall contracts. Ive worked in a range of environments with an array of different personalities with a successful track record.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Currently we are working on a basement remodel for a great couple expecting a new family member shortly. I was originally hired to renovate their loft into a babys room. We had the walls framed and finished in no time and ahead of schedule. The home owners were extremely impressed and decided to have my company finish their basement. The babys room has a custom closet with a laminate drawer system and a murphy bed. The paint job on the new walls came out just beautiful and really opens up the room. Were excited to complete the basement with the same ahead of schedule mind frame.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
1. Does your project require a permit, if so, take in account permit/builing fees. 2. How long should your project take. 3. How many years of experience does the proposed contractor have. 4. Are there any hidden costs that might surface.
