Introduction

Katz Builders is a second-generation general contractor, and our focus is quality and peace of mind for our clients. Over the years we've learned that the cheapest solution becomes the most expensive at the end of the day - which is why we never cut any corners and do the job right the first time. We are here to listen better, plan better, and build better; we are here to make your dreams a reality. Selecting the right contractor for your project is crucial for ensuring the work is completed satisfactorily and within budget. Here are some tips for selecting the right contractor, recommended by Katz Design & Builders Research: Look for contractors in your area and read reviews from past customers. Check out the contractor's website and social media pages to get a sense of their work and experience. Get referrals: Ask friends, family, and neighbors for recommendations. They may have had a positive experience with a contractor they can recommend. Check credentials: Make sure the contractor is licensed, insured, and bonded. You can check this information with your state's licensing board or the Better Business Bureau. Schedule consultations: Meet with several contractors to discuss your project and get a sense of their communication and project management skills. Ask for detailed bids: Once you have narrowed down your list of contractors, ask them for detailed bids that include a breakdown of labor and materials costs and a timeline for completion. Check references: Before making a final decision, ask for references from the contractor's past customers and follow up with them to get a sense of their experience working with the contractor. Communication and Trust: Always remember to choose the contractor with whom you feel comfortable and have good communication. Trust is key in these types of projects. Following these tips can increase the chances of selecting a reputable and reliable contractor for your project.

Q&A

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
First, we try to understand what our client needs, then we build a concept and work plan, create a design as needed, go over the possible options and budget, and only then we start to work accordingly.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Katz builders is a fully licensed general contractor with many years of experience serving clients in the residential renovation and development market. We have worked with all types of clients, from all backgrounds, and on almost any project you can imagine. Our team has become experts at managing projects and making sure we stay on course from start to finish, in order to minimize time wasted and maximize efficiency and great results.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
At a young age I started working with my family as a construction worker. Within a few years I became a project manager, and a couple years later, a supervisor. After almost 12 years of experience, I now run my own crews and along with my family, I run this company.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
All kinds: homeowners, flippers, investors, builders, designers, architects.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
In Long Beach, California, a balcony on the second floor was turned into a fancy bathroom. It became a cozy space with nice things like modern design, big windows for sunlight, and fancy fixtures. This made the home nicer and gave the owner a relaxing place to enjoy in Long Beach. The project was great since the cooperation with the owner was great. The turnout was amazing, and Katz Design & Builders was very happy with the turnout.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I would advise the client to get a few estimates, do some research about the company, and read the website and reviews. Additionally, ask to see real projects this company has completed, meet in person and feel whether this company can answer your needs. After completing these steps you would be able to easily decide who the best contractor is for you.
