What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I find it’s best to meet the client and see the job to be done in person. I like to get to know the client and their expectations, making them feel comfortable and exceeding their expectations are my main goals!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Art degree and many, many, many years of all types of painting from canvas to walls.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I was always interested in interior design, and started at a young age with art and painting. This grew into interior painting, wallpapering, and making custom draperies and pillows. I love the art of faux finishing and the transformation this and even just regular painting can bring to a home. For me painting is therapeutic!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

This is for anywhere, but be aware of any extra charges, such as chalking and hole repairs, etc. sometimes it’s not included and may be added on as they find things. Point out specific things to estimators that come to the house. Personally I look for things and ask about them and include all of these types of things in the estimate. Also know who’s doing the work and if your job is the priority!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

I like to see the room dimensions if possible and include any hallways, and know exactly what needs painting, if it’s walls, ceilings, baseboards, doors, closets and how many if applicable. It just helps to give a better estimate.
