What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once we receive your information, one of our team will contact you to schedule an in-home visit. We may ask a few questions during our initial call just so that we have a better understanding of exactly what it is you are looking to accomplish with your project and to better use your time on the day of our visit.
On the day of our visit, we will let you know when we are in route, we will arrive on time, and we can even send you a photo in advance, if you prefer. Our initial meetings typically take about an hour. While we will not need you for the entire time, we would ask for about 20 minutes at the beginning so that you can tell us about your project goals and walk us through the property and about 20 minutes at the end so that we can discuss the proposal with you and make any needed adjustments to the proposed scope of work.
If you like what you hear, and we can come to an agreement, we would want to get you booked with one of our painting crews in a timeline that works for your schedule. We would at that point discuss expectation around your work schedule, who would be home, consideration for any children or pets, covering any plants or special areas, moving furniture, arrival times, etc. We want to make sure everyone is on the same page as far as expectations - no surprises! From there the rest is just getting your project completed to your satisfaction as quickly as possible!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our painters have been painting for years - many have grown up in the trades and have been doing it for most of their lives. Others can count 10+ years working as a painter right here in the east Texas area. Our crews are selected for quality and customer service. Crews that can't meet our strict standards don't continue to work for 360 Painting. We always want our customer to come first!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I spent 23 years working for the American Red Cross in Louisiana. For years I watched as families were devastated when they lost their homes. And I was able to see the incredible transformation having a place to call home again made for them. That started me on this journey into home services and eventually led me here to become the owner for 360 Painting. I love the idea that just by giving a home a "facelift" of a new paint job, you can create extraordinary possibilities for yourself. Everything just seems newer and more do-able! I want to be a part of those transformations -- for you and your family!
What types of customers have you worked with?
We work primarily with residential repainting and customers of all types. We work with anyone who is interested in their home as an extension of themselves, as an investment, as something of value.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for someone who is insured, who offers a warranty and stands behind their work. You can always find someone who is willing to do the job for less money, but is that who you want to trust with what is likely your most expensive investment? Choose a quality paint and painter and your job will last longer, which will save you money in the long run!
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
What are the must haves for your project? If you needed to cut something out of the project, what would it be?
Color? Are you changing colors? Going darker/ lighter? It makes a difference. Even if you don't know the exact color, knowing if it will be a drastic change can help.
Timing of project? Is this something that must be done quickly, or is there some lead time on it?
Any known issues/ last time the house was painted? Rotten wood, termites, water damage, all of these can add to the cost of the job and may require additional workers to be needed.
Moving furniture or photos (interior)/ trimming bushes (exterior)? Are you going to be moving items away from the surfaces to be painted or do you want the paint crews to do that? It is actually far better if you are willing to move items into the center of the room (or out of the room) and trim back bushes away from exterior walls, where possible. Quite frankly, we would rather our team handle as few of your items as possible, and it is far more budget-friendly for you to do it rather than have the professional do it in your place. We will, of course, cover everything as a part of our prep work.
