What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I do not have any "standard" pricing as each job is different.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I talk with the client to see what their needs and wants are. Then take measurements as needed, and get additional information if need be.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

My education comes from over 35 years of experience as well as learning from other professionals when I was younger.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I am a third generation painter for one thing. I helped my dad work around our houses and had friends asking me to work on theirs as well. I also worked in the commercial construction field out of high school.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We re-roofed a house and removed the existing back patio. We then added to the concrete patio pad, and enclosed the whole thing using Hardi board for the bottom siding, and trimmed it all out using cedar boards. We also used a privacy screen cloth for the top half of the walls.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Experience counts. Listening to the customer is most important. A persons house is typically their biggest investment. They should have everything exactly as they want it, within reason.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Make a list of what you want done and be willing to reduce that list if the costs start to rise beyond your budget. Most anything is doable, all it takes is time and money.
