Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Based on what needs to be done I will give either a bid for labor ( guaranteed price) or a written estimate with some stated possible problems which would increase cost

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I like to talk with people about their project. I think it’s important to know exactly what the customer wants. I also believe the customer should know of potential problems that could affect the project.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
In my twenties I was first a framing carpenter for two years then a cabinet maker & installer. When I was in Nursing school I worked with a master plumber for two years. During my nursing career I worked as a property management repair man.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

Working first on my own house. Then for a property mgt company on my days off from the hospital. Now retired from nursing, enjoying helping folks make their homes better

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have been blessed. My customers have been great. We’ve done everything from converting a 5200 square foot commercial building to a duplex to repairing window screens. I enjoy the wide range of things I get to help my customers with

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Replaced a bathroom vanity top & installed new sink & faucet. Took just under two hours.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Have a definite plan. For a complex project, see a written cost estimate & a day by day plan to complete the work. If either seems off to you, be cautious. Make certain they have liability insurance to protect your property for unforeseen future problems related to the work that has been done.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What exactly do we want it to look like when finished & what is our actual budget.
