Introduction

Ted Lessick, owner of 360 Painting of West Chester, created a different business model. His roots are in many trades as he helped his father. Later, he spent many years working for high tech companies like Dell Technologies, NetApp, and others. Ultimately he decided to go back to his roots, albeit, as an owner of a painting company. From the moment he speaks with you, you understand that he will bring a higher level of professionalism and quality to the work in your home or business. His estimates alone speak volumes for the attention to detail the company gives, care for the customer's assets, and above all a great customer experience. Ever have a contractor walk in, look around for 2 minutes, and then write a number down on a piece of paper for you? That will never happen with 360 Painting. Your investment deserves far better. Let us show you! We offer a 2 year warranty which is above and beyond everybody else and estimates are free of charge.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Pricing is of course determined by scope of work. However, when my customers are getting multiple estimates, I am always the guy that is in the middle somewhere which is where I want to be. I am rarely going to be the cheapest because the cheapest is reserved for those that have a poorer quality of workmanship, unreliable, unprofessional, uses the cheapest paint that will fade fast, and no warranty. This is not my model of business. But, we are also not overpriced for the quality of work we deliver. Don't take my word for it though. Go see our Google Reviews and you will understand.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
From the first point of contact we are nothing but professional, be it contact from myself the owner, another manager, or my admin team. We will set you up with a date and time for an estimate and then you get a booking reminder via text and email. Once I am onsite, we discuss your scope of work and then I build a digital estimate while I am there which I then go through with you in detail. You also of course get emailed that estimate before I leave your location. The estimate backs up everything we will do for you and for what the price is for the work effort. This is far and away different a "cocktail napkin" type of estimate or just a verbal, both of which are meaningless. Following that estimate I get you booked for the work based on our collective schedule. I meet the customer and my crew onsite when the work begins to step through everything with both parties. This ensures a smoother process and provides a comfort level for everyone.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
My father was a coal miner. He was laid off when I was in high school. It was a very traditional family and I worked with my father to help bring in income. We did electrical, plumbing, siding, roofing, decking, painting, etc. The bottom line is that I grew up doing it and learning to do it right. I then went to college and had a business career. Ultimately I got tired of corporate and went back to my roots, albeit as a paint company owner. I have combined my knowledge of the technical work with my business professionalism and savvy to create an experience for the customer that sits a level above every other painter in the area. Does it make us expensive? Hell no. I came from a small town. I provide reasonable pricing for higher quality work and the Google Reviews show it.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
360 Painting of West Chester is approximately 80% residential work and 20% light commercial. We handle general interior and exterior painting and also have specialties in cabinet painting, white washing, wallpaper installation including large murals, and large project staining and sealing.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I develop relationships with all my customers. The longer the project then more I connect with people. We often do whole house painting for home buyers who want to make the home their own. I provide an option for an interior decorator to work with the customer on colors based on lighting, fabrics, furniture, etc. Then we commence work. In a recent home up in Collegeville I had the pleasure of working with a couple that had us paint their entire home. They leveraged the interior decorator and I worked closely with the customer. The home came out looking incredible. These are the types of jobs I am super proud of.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Remember that as with nearly everything else, you pay for what you get. If you take the cheapest price you will get burned. I see it all the time. Even if you do not leverage 360 Painting of West Chester, ensure the painters will use better quality paints from Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore (paints from large box stores are thin and fade fast), that the work is backed up with a contract, that there is a warranty, and that you can rely on the painter to stand behind their work. You are making an investment in your home, big or small. Have it done right.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What kind of reputation does this painter have? See Google Reviews and anything else you can use to vet them out. Do I care about warranty and the painter standing behind their work? Know your scope of work before you have anyone out. Keep in mind that often times we end up adding additional scope because once certain things are painted, the customer realizes how faded and beat everything else is. I can always back out certain aspects from the scope of work if your budget is lower. In your perfect world though, what all would you like done? Explore it with your painter. If they are good with customers then they will accommodate you.
