What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We offer a 20% discount for Thumbtack customers. There is no charge for estimates. No payment is due until the job is complete, no down payment.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We will meet on site to review the work and provide a written detailed proposal for all work to be done. Scheduling is done at the customers convenience and all work is completed in a professional and timely manner. A walk thru is done with the customer after the work is completed and before any payment is due.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

We have in house OSHA training. We are Lead-Safe Certified. All of our crews are trained in product knowledge, application techniques and safe handling practices.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

In the late 1990s and early 2000s I worked for another painting company initially as a sales associate and then as a manager. The company closed its doors in the fall of 2003 and I started Advance in February of 2004.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Our customer base is primarily repainting. We have completed over 15,000 projects in the Charlotte area and we have worked with homeowners, churches, medical offices, government buildings, HOAS, property management companies and much more.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We have recently completed interior and exterior rehabs on multiple America Red Cross locations across the Piedmont region of the state. The project has been on-going for the past year.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Be sure to do your homework when hiring a painting company. Look for companies with a track record. Always check to make sure the company has Worker's Comp and Liability Insurance and request proof. Also, be cautious of companies requiring money up front.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

How long have they been in business? What prep work is included? Is carpentry included? Are all materials included? How long with the project take to complete? Is there a supervisor on site? How long is the guarantee?
