What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I price my services very competitive. Im not always the lowest price but my quality is always great.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I can set an apointment for a quote or give an estimate with pictures. Now days its not uncommon to not meet the customer until I show up to do the work.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been refinishing furniture for almost 40 years, since 9th grade. Besides a college education most of my work education came from learning on the job. Its hard to learn some things from books.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started finishing antiques during high school for extra money. I bought and sold antiques for many years. Then in 1991, I opened a furniture store at Lake of the Ozarks, expanding to st louis area by 1995. By 2000 I was doing repair and refinishing for Dillards, Famous Barr, and Oak Tree Furniture, I added Ameristar in 2008. As soon as my kids were old enough, I started doing kitchen cabinet refinishing and painting around 2010.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with every kind of customer over the years. I always enjoy working with individuals on home projects or heirlooms as the results are more personal and meaningful.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I always enjoy taking the piece of furniture that almost gets thrown to the trash and make it a family heirloom again.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Make sure the work desired will add value to your home. Spraying is the only way to achieve a perfect finish on your cabinets or fine furniture. Brush painting gives a DIY look to anyone evaluating the project.
