Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I can work withing any budget. All design renderings and quotes are free. I work with people on the design/placement of the mural and we decide on a final price before I start.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Many times people just send me a picture of the wall, ceiling or floor they'd like a mural on and their basic design idea and I give them a free design rendering and a quote.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have known I had an artistic talent since age five. I've taken multiple painting/art classes. Before doing mural painting I was a "regular" house painter so I know how to spackle, tape and roll professionally.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
While doing regular painting for a Twin Cities residential painting company I saw a muralist painting a mural in a kid's room and knew instantly that's what I wanted to do: blend my artistic talent and my house painting skills.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with new parents on their first nursery, homeowners wanting to immortalize their Italian heritage on their wall, John Deere dealership owners, kids paying for their mural themselves, Pediatric dentists opening up their own practices, pastors at Churches, teachers at schools and the proprietor at the Maritime Museum in Duluth for a display mural, just to name a few.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I was contacted by a couple of Italian heritage who had taken a vacation to Positano, Italy and wanted me to paint a large mural of the city above their fireplace in their living room. Using my own scaffolding I was able to get the project done on time (6 days) and on budget and they were thrilled!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Ultimately every customer picks a muralist who's style they like and whom they can afford. Attributes I offer are: a large range of styles, ability to work within any budget (I've done jobs that take just 1/2 a day), an easy going personality (I am a "people" person who loves to please!), a perfectionist (zero mess, 100% satisfaction every time), artistic talent and painting skill.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Having a general idea of your project design and project budget is all you need.
