What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

During the estimate, we test the concrete for moisture that can be coming through the concrete so we can match the floor system to your environment. We also test the hardness of the concrete so we know which diamonds we need to grind the floor. We also show physical samples to the customer so they can see a color in their own space. After the site visit, the customer will receive a bid by email and text within a couple days of the site visit.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have an associates in business administration from Parkland College. I have 20+ years in decorative concrete. In my time in this industry I have attended many training seminars at Ez-Concrete Supply Chicago, Solomon Colors, and GFX Flooring to name a few. I also work at EZ-Concrete Supply Chicago as tech support and sales manager.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started pouring decorative concrete landscape borders in the late 90's and I gradually started offering coatings, which took off for us.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked for residential and commercial projects as well.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We recently did a small garage for some elderly folks in Champaign. We helped get his safe out of his garage so we could coat it. The client was overjoyed with the results. He ended up calling multiple times to say thanks. I love it when we can help solve problems for people.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would like to inform people that no concrete slab is the same. The drainage is also different from location to location. Make sure a moisture test is performed on your concrete by a trained technician. 1 day exclusive garage floor coating companies operate as if 1 material can coat everything. This is not true. Ask to see what they offer as a guarantee for their coating. You will find in fine print that moisture isn't covered. which is why we offer a range of products to customize each coating project

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Figure out how you are going to empty the entire area we are working in. Also remember you won't be able to walk on the coating for at least 12 hours. Plan accordingly.
