Introduction

In my more than 15 years in the industry I know how to design all types of rooms. No matter if it is a powder room to multifunctional spaces in residential properties or small business. It is my goal to make your space a place that provides function, comfort and joy. From the initial consultation to the end of the design I listen to your needs and create a space you never want to leave.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
The fees listed are a general start. The variation will be determined by the job itself. The final price will always be communicated before I start a job. Pricing is always fair and I love giving discounts and reusing items to save money, if possible.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Initial consultation in the space is the meat and potatoes of taking in a new client. I will ask a lot of questions so I can have a clear picture of how to design a space pleasing to you.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a certificate in interior design.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I’ve been designing rooms since the age of 12. I remember when my mother and I moved into a new home it was filled with antique furniture. Unfortunately, I didn’t have an appreciation for antique, I only knew that the browns and details didn’t match and it was driving me crazy. I looked around the room and decided it had to change. I used the money from my grass cutting job to buy black lacquer paint from the local Ace hardware store I passed on my way home from school. I went to the thrift store I would pass on my bike rides around town and found a king size reversible black and blue comforter set. It had all the pieces, sheets, pillow cases and small throw pillows. I remember having a clear idea of what to do with the materials I purchased. I did all of this without telling my mother. Once I had everything I needed one Friday night my mother went to work and I stayed up all night hand sewing, cutting and painting. I cut the comforter set down to fit my twin bed and then made matching curtains for the 2 windows in the room. I painted all the antique furniture black. When she came home the next morning she came in my room to a reveal! She couldn’t believe how different everything looked and that I had moved all of the furniture and painted it all myself. It all felt very normal to me but I knew I would do it again. The room was my safe haven and brought me so much peace. In that room I created and drew other designs, houses and decor.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
A wide variety from different age groups and demographics. I have experience with clients who have an idea of what they want and those with no idea at all. It is my pleasure to get you from wherever your starting place is to a happy completed project. I make every effort to make the experience enjoyable for everyone.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Send as many pictures as you can of your space. Be clear about how you use the space or would like to use the space.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What things in the room make you happy? What things about the space bring no emotion at all?
