Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We charge per cabinet door and drawer front to cover labor and materials. For customers who give deposit in the month of June can receive a $250 project discount.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
First, I’d like to talk to my customer to hear their vision for their project. After that I can give them an estimate over the phone. If the estimate works with their budget, I do a color consult and show them my sample doors on what their kitchen will look like, I can paint the kitchen in the color of their choice. Once a color has been chosen, we set up a date when we can start the project. Also, we will discuss the time that it will take from beginning to the end to finish their project. Most projects are finished within five working days.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I was trained by a Cabinet painter, and a faux artist of the right process and product to do cabinet painting and refinishing.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I’ve been a painter for over 40 years and saw a need for Refinishing Cabinets. I went through some training to find the best process to get factory finished looking doors and frames. It never gets old for me to see a customer enthusiastically, Smile, and laugh when the job is completed, knowing that I not only saved them a lot of money compared to replacing, but to also to see their kitchen cabinets transformed!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We have work with customers in a variety of age ranges, and demographics.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Just finished a job where I did a re-face and put on new shaker cabinet doors, and painted them and the frames and panels. It totally transformed the kitchen at a reasonable price and the customer was thrilled! I it took me around eight work days to complete the project.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I would tell them to find out how the contractor applies the product on their cabinets. Do they do spray work or do they apply product with brush and roller? If they don’t spray, I would tell them to avoid that contractor because it would not look good. I would also ask if they give, any guarantee to their work. I however, give a lifetime, guarantee against any chipping, peeling, or cracks.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Do they provide a warranty? Do they have any references they could provide so you could talk to them on the phone?
