Introduction

***Please read before requesting a quote*** *I am generally booked 2-4 weeks out, with occasional but few exceptions, so please keep this in mind for the planning/scheduling process* MURAL PRICING: I have minimum daily prices based on distance; these are non-negotiable for projects that take three days or less, but larger projects are priced differently. Prices may be higher depending on the complexity of the mural and the texture of the wall, these are just starting points. Distance from Colorado Springs(80907): 0-50 miles: $500 51-75 miles: $750 76-100 miles: $850 101 miles + : $1000, although at this distance I will likely be staying in the area for the project, so past the first two days it may decrease. OTHER THINGS TO KNOW: 1. I love trying new styles and things I haven’t done before, but I paint everything by hand, so if you’re looking for something spray painted or graffiti-style in a mural, unfortunately I am probably not the artist for you. 2. I provide all of the paint I will need (unless you specifically request to do so), and I will be happy to provide you a touch up kit for simple murals with up to 6 colors if requested. The cost of paint is included in my price. However, it is not specifically calculated per job because I generally have a lot of paint on hand from previous projects. This keeps my prices down overall, so my policy is not to leave any leftover paint with clients. I am able to leave all of the leftover paint from your project upon request, but please know this will affect the cost. 3. Any and all changes/additions to the design after agreeing on a price will affect the overall price. 4. I am happy to discuss your design as much as you’d like before committing to a project, but I require a non-refundable retainer fee before drawing up a custom mural design for your project. This will function as a deposit toward the total cost of your project if you decide to move forward with the mural. 5. Please remember that I am a human person on the other end of this that you’re communicating with! I will not be offended or rude if you end up choosing to work with another artist, but I would sincerely appreciate if you let me know if you decide to go in another direction after requesting a quote. :) I can paint or create just about anything - I’d be happy to discuss your ideas and help figure out the perfect design! Thank you so much for taking the time to read this - I look forward to working with you!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
If you have a budget in mind please let me know - my prices vary based on design complexity, square footage and wall texture, so there are things we can adjust to make a project fit within your budget. Also, I charge a 10-20% rush fee for anything that needs to be completed within 14 days of reaching out to me.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I want to talk to you and specifically discuss your ideas for the piece, and also sizing, budget, wall texture, and any color schemes you want to focus on, agree on a design and price for the piece. Then we’ll get something scheduled!

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I went to college at CU Boulder and got a degree in News Editorial Journalism and Computer Science, but I spent all of my free time in those years painting at home. I started painting full time at Colorado Ski Furniture after graduation, and painted a few murals while working there, which sparked my interest. I was introduced to Thumbtack mid-2019 and have been painting murals full time since!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I’ve worked both with businesses and individuals, and am happy to work with any customer interested in a mural to create the perfect space.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I’ve been working on a series of indoor murals at Manitou Chiropractic, and I love how it’s making the office a more peaceful space for clients. The large wall in the waiting room (shown under “projects”) took approximately 60 hours.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
A lot of artists have a specific style that resonates with them - just make sure that your artists style matches what you’re looking for in a finished product!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Try to have a budget in mind, and some sort of direction for your project. Since your artist probably doesn’t know you personally, it’s harder for us to come up with an idea from scratch that we know you’ll love. It’s your space and we want to be absolutely positive you’ll love the result.
