What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

The message that we want our customers to get regarding our pricing is that we provide excellent quality and service for a very fair price. We want them to know that we will always use the finest quality products, and our prices always include multiple coats.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I will always meet with all prospective clients where I will go over the scope of work in detail. I will be clear, honest, and upfront regarding scheduling and how long the project will take. I will also assist them in color selection and samples, so that each customer will be confident in their selections.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I received my business education from Cal Poly SLO. I have also received on the job training as a painting contractor since 1991.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

After college, I started painting in 1991 working with my father in law as his business partner. Shortly after that, I took the contractors exam and got licensed on my own. Brancato Painting has been serving Kern County ever since.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with home owners, building contractors, inspectors, decorators, and all manner of business owners.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We have restored several houses that were old and in need of care. It was very gratifying seeing an old house become new again while keeping the same style that it had when it was originally built. Some of the smaller jobs took a week, and others took longer based on the job size and scope.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

My best advice would be to select a contractor that is licensed, bonded, insured, and one that has a good reputation. Select one that is reliable and honest, and that uses only the finest products. In addition, select a contractor that is willing to put everything in writing.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

1. What is the scope of work desired? 2. What is the time frame that I would like the project completed by? 3. How much can I afford to spend? 4. Is quality and service most important? Or just the price? 5. What professional qualities are most important to me when selecting a contractor/professional?
