Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My pricing varies depending on what type of project it is. I will always be very transparent on my pricing, and list out the costs for each. Murals are priced by the square foot, and paintings are by the square inch. Digital work is by the job required.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I like to get the best understanding on what my clients want before any work begins. After the initial consultation I will draft up a quote for the work, and if agreed, I start working digitally working towards the final concept. The whole process can be as quick as 2-3 days before moving onto paint!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I went to school for animation at Cal State Fullerton, and have been a full time artist since 2010. I am always learning and exploring new techniques to make my art that much better.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Ever since I was a little kid, I loved to draw, and that has never stopped. I am fortunate enough to have had a full time illustration career since 2010 which all started by exhibiting at local craft fairs, comic cons, pop up shows and now has led to working with all sorts of amazing clients.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
My client base ranges from private residences to corporations. I have worked with Disney, NASA, Knotts Berry Farm, Zip recruiter, and Black Girl Sunscreen all of which has had specific requirements and goals, and I am proud to have met each and every one!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I love working with clients more than once! I was fortunate to be asked back to Black Girl Sunscreen to create 4 more murals! The challenge was, we didn't design anything ahead of time, and made it all up on the spot!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
If it is for a mural, ask what type of preparation they do for wall before painting. Ask what paint is being used and if they are insured (I am!). Another great question is the turn around time for an initial concept, because there is nothing worse than waiting!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Have as many details about what you want as possible! There really isn't anything better than a client with a clear sense of what they want, and where they want it! Of course it is more than ok to give the artist free reign, but that is something to consider!
