Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
As far as pricing goes, everything comes out of our standardized price manual. This is your assurance that I’m not looking at you, trying to determine how much money you’ve got, or making the price up as I go along, or charging different prices by the neighborhood. With the exception of our service agreement customers, everyone pays the same rate, regardless of who they are, where they live, or which tech does the job. As far as I’m concerned, my job is to charge you the least amount of money possible, to get the job done right the first time every time!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Any contractor you hire should calculate the size of the cooling equipment you need by using such recognized methods as the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) Manual J. Finding a trustworthy contractor to install and service an air-conditioning system matters the most. Be leery of a contractor who bases estimates merely on house size or vague rules of thumb. The HVAC system is arguably the most complex system installed in a house and the total house energy use. A full HVAC design involves more than just the load estimate calculation. The load calculation is the first step of the iterative HVAC design procedure. After initial equipment selection, several adjustments to duct design and equipment selection may be needed to optimize the design.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What methods do they use when sizing equipment, what form of pricing is used, and most importantly are the licensed and insured by the state and do they pull all required permits with cities and counties to insure your safety and protect your investment. What type of warranty and guarantee can be expected.
