Introduction

Your parents relied on traditional companies like ours. Established in 1957, our values are old school yet timeless. We don’t just offer residential and commercial heating, cooling, and electrical; we provide a cozy, safe, and secure home. When you call Hurliman, you’ll find we’re not here to push products—we listen, understand, and guide, like old-school professionals. That's how we roll.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Our professional technicians will arrive at your home to assess the issue thoroughly. Once we have a full understanding of the situation, we’ll provide a detailed proposal outlining the scope of work and pricing. You’ll have the opportunity to review and approve the proposal before we begin any work. The price we quote is the price you pay—no hidden fees or surprises.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
From your first call, our friendly office team gathers the necessary details about your project or issue and schedules your appointment. You'll receive email and SMS notifications as reminders, along with a notification when your technician is en route—including their photo and live location tracking. Once on-site, our technician will take the time to understand your needs, walk you through your options, and present a clear, professional proposal. Once you approve, we get to work—always ensuring the job is done right the first time and leaving your home cleaner than we found it.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
All of our field professionals are certified through the State of Washington and have completed official training and licensing requirements. We continuously invest in ongoing training to stay up to date with industry standards and best practices.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We serve both residential and commercial customers. If you have heating or cooling, we’re here to help! Whether it’s a home, office, restaurant, or new construction project, we have the expertise to get the job done.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We’re especially proud of helping out a local veteran by installing a furnace and air conditioner completely free of charge as we pursue our mandate to give back to the Spokane community.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Always choose a licensed and insured contractor. Check online reviews, especially Google reviews, to see real customer experiences. A reputable contractor should be transparent with pricing, communicate clearly, and stand by their work.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What is the issue or project? – Are you looking for a repair, maintenance, or a full system replacement? Be as specific as possible about symptoms like uneven heating/cooling, strange noises, or rising energy bills. How old is your current HVAC system? – If your system is over 10-15 years old, it may be more cost-effective to replace it rather than repair it. Have you noticed any performance issues? – Does the system struggle to maintain the right temperature? Are certain rooms hotter or colder than others? Any odd smells, leaks, or unusual noises? When was the last time your system was serviced? – Regular maintenance affects performance. If it’s been over a year, a tune-up might be the first step. What type of HVAC system do you have? – Do you have a gas furnace, heat pump, central AC, mini-split, or boiler? Knowing the type of system helps guide the conversation. Have you changed your air filters recently? – A dirty filter can cause many issues, from airflow restrictions to increased energy costs.
