Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We will offer FREE estimates on all your garage door needs. We provide transparent prices that includes all haul away and removal fees. We like to offer customers a good, better, and best options.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We want to find the right solution for the customer. Sometimes fixing the immediate problem won't address the underlying issues. For example, putting a new garage door opener on a creased garage door isn't a good plan. The door will cause the new opener to fail as well and the customer will have thrown good money after bad.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I've been engaged in home remodeling for 10 years and know how difficult it is to find good contractors. I know what I expect as a homeowner myself, and try to deliver that value and reliability

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Like many, I had problems on garage doors for my own home and several rental properties over the years. I noticed pricing all over the board and difficulty in finding someone to fix the problem. But the biggest problem was getting people to come back for work, whether it was new work that I needed, or honoring a warranty.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
All types ranging from home owners, to auto garages, to contractors. Virtually every homeowner has a garage

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We were able to sync up the remotes so they could handle two garages and the front gate which was 200 feet from the house. The owner would have to come 20 feet outside to operate the gate. We were able to add a receiver which solved the issue for the customer. They could open the gate from inside their house

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Price is very important, but value for money and reliabilty are more important. You want a contractor who will provide a range of solutions, stand behind the work that they do, and show up when they say they will.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Ask questions, even if you're embarassed to ask them. There's no such thing as a dumb question. Also, consider how not much you're spending just now, but over a period of time. Spending $400 to fix the springs of a garage door you'll need to replace in a year isn't a good idea. Also, fixing old garage door openers is a terrible idea. Just replace it.
